No dad would think twice about donating his kidney to save little Princess’ Life, so Lee Chester said yes to it without thinking twice. The three year old had to spend fourteen months on a dialysis machine in order to clean her blood. She was attached to the machine for twelve hours everyday.
Esme spent 14 months on dialysis regularly with 12 hours a day and 7 days a week after Suffering Kidney Failure. when Doctors told them for immediate Kidney transplant, both Lee and Rachel tested and Lee was found a better match, and then he gave her little princess an ultimate gift by saving her life.
He says donating a kidney is something any parent would do for their child. He explained, “Things changed overnight. Her kidney failure was end stage – the worst it could get.We were both tested and although Rachel was a match, I was a better match. I said yes immediately.”
Lee said: “We are both doing really well. I’m so glad it’s gone well for Esme. She’s eating mashed potato in bed. “I’m quite sore so I’ll have to milk it at home for a bit. It really does show the importance of opting in for organ donation. It really does save lives.”
Lee and Rachel hope Esme will be able to recover in time to start at pre-school. We wish her a quick recovery.!
