Back in 2007 people watched Big Bang Theory for the first time and either laughed along or stared in horror. This is one of those shows that people either love or hate, there’s not really anyone in the middle ground there. One of the most famed and noticeable actresses of the show is the main character Penny, played by the stunning Kaley Cuoco. For those that enjoyed the show they’ve been watching her since episode one, but it turns out she wasn’t the first choice they had in mind for the spot!
Originally the characters name was supposed to be Katie, and she was played by actress Amanda Walsh. Luckily there’s some footage contained as a deleted scene featuring Walsh’s performance, and while she’s in no way, shape or form bad in it, ultimately she was passed over for Kaley.
Surprisingly it took Cuoco three separate interviews before she landed the gig, but even with that on her record she’s making a life-changing amount of $1 million per episode for the latest ones! You can definitely see a big difference in the way two actresses can take the same part and portray them in two completely different ways. I wish there were more of these…
