23-Year-Old Mother Of 11 Wants To Have Another 100 Children To Form The 'World's Largest Family'

A woman from Russia has told the world that she intends to have 100 childrenChristina Ozturk, who is 23 and already has 11 children is intending for the births to be carried out by surrogacy over the next 20 or so years.

Her husband, Galip Ozturk, is also on board and the couple believe that they could end up having the largest family the world has ever seen.

Christina's first child was born before she met Galip, but together they have 10 children and now live in Georgia, where birth via surrogacy is legal. In such a process, a female egg and male sperm are put together and then entered into the body of a female who has volunteered, or who is being paid, to carry the child until it is born.

Several of their current children were born via surrogates. Christina said:

"At the moment, I have 10 children with the latest addition, Olivia, who arrived at the end of last month. I gave birth to my eldest daughter Vika myself, six years ago. The rest of the children are genetically ours from my husband and I, but were carried by surrogates."

It is believed that all of the children will live with the family who own a hotel.

Christina added:

"I don't know how many they will eventually be, but we certainly don't plan to stop at 10. We just not ready to talk about the final number. Everything has its time. The clinic in Batumi chooses surrogate mothers for us and takes full responsibility for the process. We are not personally acquainted with surrogate mothers and do not have direct contacts with them in order to avoid problems after pregnancy. All communication takes place through the clinic, we only monitor health indicators, I make up a dietary menu for mothers so that the food is complete, I look at the test results."

The cost of all the surrogates to carry 100 children is estimated to be around $1 million.

There are also questions over how the family would be able to properly look after such a large number of children of varying ages and give them the attention they require. It seems only realistically possible if the family were to hire multiple professional child-carers.
