When Jonathan Coelho was diagnosed with the coronavirus at the age of 32, doctors were certain he would recover.
After all, the Connecticut man survived childhood cancer — twice. He was always a strong and active family man.
Jonathan spent 27 days in the hospital, fighting for his life. For the first couple weeks, he and Katie were still able to text each other and send sweet love notes.
But Jonathan's health ultimately took a turn for the worse. He died all alone.
When the hospital staff returned her husband's belongings, a devastated Katie began scrolling through his cellphone and found a precious gift.
The day before he passed away, just hours before he was intubated, Jonathan wrote a note to his family on his phone.
Jonathan had some things he wanted to say to Katie and their two kids, 2-year-old Braedyn and 4-month-old Penelope.
"It was just so you could see from start to finish, my husband worshipped us and I'm so thankful I have those words, but they’re also very haunting because they're all I have left," Katie told CBS.
